Why Use Gutter Repair Bellingham

Many home owners in Bellingham, WA overlook the value that having working gutters can bring to their homes.

If your gutters are not working as intended they can cause all kinds of issues and damage to your home. For instance over time the waterproof sealant starts to break down, downspouts can become loose over time and may even fall off.

This introduces leaks into your gutter system. Which can cultivate the growth of moss and weeds on your walls and roof. Walls can become stained by rainwater making your home very ugly looking. No one wants that.

There are a few very important parts of a gutter system that need have a watertight seal. The gutter corners, end caps of the gutter and the outlets that let water flow into the gutter downspouts. Over time caulk sealing in these areas can fail and create leaks in your gutter system. We can repair any leaks you may have in your gutters.

A fully working gutter system helps to improve the overall appearance of your home, increasing its value if you ever decide to sell. Routine gutter maintenance is also fairly inexpensive so it is really a no brainer to get your gutters repaired as soon as you see an issue.

Gutter Repair Bellingham Reviews

Very Great Service..

Rated 5.0 out of 5

I own a commercial property and its on the large side. The building itself was quite old when I bought it and the gutters recently were causing major issues. We had seepage and leaks all over the outside and inside of the walls. Gutter Repair Bellingham installed a great gutter system complete with guards and downspouts. The best materials that I know will last 50 years or more. Very great service..

    Gutter Repair & Cleaning FAQ

Gutters and Gutter systems play a crucial role in keeping a home strong. The work they do goes unnoticed which is exactly what should happen. But most people do not know what gutters actually do.

Gutters prevent water damage to your home by directing rain water away from the roof and walls of your home. This water gets directed into the downspouts and finally into the drains. Without a properly installed or effective gutter system then your home will suffer from water leakage which seeps into your house.

Through the walls, into the foundation and siding of a home. This can increase the risk of soil erosion and basement flooding which is obviously bad. Any kind of flooding in a home will introduce a homeowner to many issues such as harmful mold growth. Mold can cause many health issues and can seriously affect the health of those living there.

Generally repairing a damaged gutter can be simple. Identify the broken section and swap it out for a new gutter section. Make sure it fits tightly and will not move a lot when water flows through it. We recommend leaving this to the professionals as their can be a lot more damage than is visible. Changing one part can introduce issues elsewhere and a thorough examination is best before doing anything.

Gutter pricing depends on how big your home is, how much rainfall there is in your area and the materials you would like to use. Better materials cost more as does size and length of a system. The price can vary from home to home. We suggest calling us.

As soon as they become an issue. If water is leaking onto the siding of your home, then you know something is wrong. Possible debris could be clogging the gutter but if they are clean and water is still pouring over and onto your roof or walls or even leaking inside your home then you have a big issue. Repairing or replacing the gutters is needed and fast.

We only recommend replacing if you absolutely need to. Replacing them often can be very costly and if they are properly cared for and cleaned often gutters can last a very long time.

This depends on the nature of damage. They may just be clogged in a certain area and need a good cleaning. A corner may have been damaged by the wind of too much water flowing through it. Holes may show up. But sections can be replaced on certain areas and the whole system does not need to be changed. But if a particularly bad storm has caused excessive damage to many sections then we recommend a full replacement.

This is really up to the home owner. Some may feel that the gutters they have are fine and don’t need replaced but then end up with a larger cost in future that could have been prevented if their gutters were replaced in a timely manner.

The most common type of gutters can last up to 20 years but higher end options can last up to 50 years and longer if cared for properly. Most home owners will never need to replace their gutters but many homes on the market are older than 50 years and the gutters are well overdue for replacement.

Look at them. Are they crooked, sagging or leaking, are parts missing, are holes present, are the downspouts aligned, does the water flow where it is supposed to, is there leaking inside your home? These are some of the warning signs that the gutters have become bad and we urge any home owner to fix them before it gets worse.

This is a job for the experts, if water is standing still in your gutter then it means the slope and alignment is wrong and needs to be finely adjusted. Water should flow steadily down into the spouts but not too fast. Fast flowing water can cause damage so making sure the angle is just right is very important.

This can depend on how bad the sagging is. We would need to see it in person and assess it. There may be more damage than is readily visible.

It depends. How much needs to be replaced, what kind of material is the gutter made from and where exactly is it placed.

Plumbers tend to do interior plumbing, although they may be able to install some aspects of your roof plumbing it is still best to go with a gutter installation specialist.

Every 20 – 50 years depending on the type of gutter material installed. Or when heavy damage has been caused to it.

You could try. We do not recommend this though. DIY on your own home can caused major issues down the line as all the aspects have not been considered. We suggest contacting an expert and getting an evaluation before trying anything yourself.

If you aren’t a handy man or have minimal DIY experience, then installing gutters by yourself will be very difficult. We suggest contacting us and having our experts do it for you.

For some it may be. For others it can be a headache and end up costing more. Extra damage can be caused by improper installation such as water seepage and overflow causing mold and flooding. Hiring an expert such as us will make sure these issues will not happen.

The brackets and fixtures have become lose from the house. They need to be tightened or readjusted. Doing this is usually not that difficult but sometimes it can be very difficult. We suggest hiring an expert for this.

Rust holes on a gutter system is a huge problem and just patching them is not enough. The damaged section would need to be replaced entirely. If there is a rust hole it means the protective paint has come off and water and air have caused the metal to rust. We recommend replacing that section and if needed replace the whole gutter system including downspouts.

We wouldn’t recommend it. You could try and see how it goes but we think it will just fail and cause more issues in the future. It is best to get a gutter replaced if you think it is no longer doing its job.
